Hon Doris K. Lewis The Honorable Doris K. Lewis was elected Register of Wills for Dorchester County in 1974. Prior to her election she worked in a law office for 17 years which specialized in probate, corporate and real estate law. She graduated from South Dorchester High School and Goldey Beacom College, Wilmington, Delaware. A lifelong resident of Dorchester County, Mrs. Lewis has taken several classes in accounting and law and has completed many continuing legal education classes through the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education for Lawyers.

Other accomplishments and memberships include:

  • Maryland Register of Wills Association - served as Vice-President, Treasurer and chaired several committees.
  • St. John's United Methodist Church - presently serving as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the Memorial-Building Fund.
  • South Dorchester Folk Museum - currently serving on the Board of Directors and as Museum Treasurer.
  • Member - National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution
  • Member - Friends of Blackwater
  • Member - Quota International of Cambridge
