The Honorable James L. Phelps was elected Register of Wills on November 2, 2010 and sworn in on December 7, 2010. He is the 23rd Register to serve the citizens of Caroline County. Jim was born and raised in Caroline County. He graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1972. He has been married to his wife Jill for over 30 years. He has two children, Julie Phelps and Justin Phelps. Jim is a charter member of the Idlewild Ruritan Club. He has served two years as President, two years as Vice President, six years as Director and eight years as Treasurer. He has also been a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hurlock, Maryland for over 40 years. Jim's hobbies include spending time with his wife, children, and two grandsons. He is also an avid collector of antique John Deere tractors and memorabilia. Jim enjoys attending car shows with his 1969 Chevelle. Having lived his whole life in Caroline County, Jim enjoys the outdoors, including fishing and hunting. Before being elected Register of Wills, Jim worked for 21 years as a Sales Manager for one of the largest Ford dealers in Maryland - Preston Ford Inc. in Preston. |
