The Honorable Teresa (Terry) D. Wheatley was appointed Register of Wills for Dorchester County on November 10, 2020 by the Judges of the Orphan's Court.

At the age of 17, she went to work in the Law Office of Senator Frederick C. Malkus as a legal secretary and later an Administrative Assistant in his Annapolis office. She served 13 years in Annapolis during the General Assembly from 1973-1986 at which time she returned to Cambridge to totally manage the office.

After 23 plus years with Mr. Malkus she went to work for the Law Office of Wilson & Collison (now Judge Brett W. Wilson and Robert S. Collison) for 3 years with emphasis in probate/real estate work.

In 1999 Mrs. Wheatley joined the Office of Register of Wills as Deputy under Doris K. Lewis. In 2012 she became Chief Deputy and served as such until her appointment as Register of Wills.

Mrs. Wheatley is married to her husband, Rick and the mother of five sons, Eric (Megan), Adam, BJ (Samantha), Kyle (Leigh) and Devin (Meghan). She is also the grandmother to Natalie, Landon, Blake, Greyson and Audrey.
